HAZWOPER 2024 Refresher (8-Hour)

The HAZWOPER 2023 Refresher (8-Hour) course is an advanced certificate/card-level training designed to provide essential knowledge and training as prescribed by the OSHA standard for hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) in 29 CFR 1910.120.

Nearly all levels of employees engaged in clean-up operations are required to complete eight hours of refresher training annually. This specific training provides current content (2022-2023) and supports a review of basic occupational safety and health principles learned during their initial 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification training.

  • Improving workplace ventilation during cold weather
  • Safety issues for warehouse operations
  • Resources for oil spill emergency response and recovery activities
  • Additional Hazards: While hazardous chemicals may be the prime focus of HAZWOPER and site remediation, workers also face a variety of additional hazards such as ladder safety, heat illness, identification of subcontractor inspection results, mental health and stress awareness, minimizing tick exposures, and response to hurricanes.
